The rep is toggling between four browser tabs, a shared Google Sheet of dubious provenance, a volume discount that may or may not still apply, and their own rapidly diminishing will to live. CPQ Club is for that person – and, more precisely, for the leaders responsible for ensuring that person never has to do that again.
What this is, and why it exists
We exist because quoting software is one of those categories where the wrong choice costs you deals, not just dollars. A bad CRM is annoying; a bad CPQ tool sends prospects proposals with the wrong price, the wrong configuration, or both. That kind of mistake does not get a second chance.
Who reads this
Sales operations managers who have inherited a quoting process built on optimism and duct tape. Revenue operations leaders tasked with making pricing consistent across a team that has historically treated consistency as a suggestion. CROs who have noticed that deals are not, in fact, being lost to competitors but to their own organization’s inability to produce a proposal before the prospect loses interest. If any of that sounds uncomfortably familiar, welcome.
What we actually do
We review Configure, Price, Quote software. The full spectrum: from heavyweight enterprise platforms that require a dedicated implementation team and a second mortgage, to nimbler tools designed for mid-market sales organizations that would like to stop emailing PDFs they manually assembled in a word processor. We sign up for real accounts, build real product catalogs, configure real pricing rules, and generate real quotes. Then we write about what happened, including the parts the vendor’s demo carefully avoids.
The money question
We participate in affiliate programmes with some platforms we review. If you click through to a vendor from our site and sign up, we may earn a commission. This is disclosed in detail on our affiliate disclosure page. What we can tell you here is that affiliate relationships do not determine which platforms we recommend. A tool that pays handsomely but produces inaccurate quotes will be described as a tool that produces inaccurate quotes. We have a reputation to build, and we would rather build it on honesty than on commission checks.
What is coming
We are building out comprehensive coverage across every CPQ category: enterprise platforms, mid-market solutions, industry-specific tools, and the integrations that connect them to your CRM, ERP, and billing systems. Every review follows the same process. No shortcuts, no sponsored content, no mysteriously glowing assessments of platforms that happen to have generous partner programmes.
